Apple is ready to expand Apple Intelligence features next month with the iOS 18.2 rollout. A major upgrade in the next iOS 18 version will be OpenAI's ChatGPT integration, which Apple claims will make Siri even smarter. So, when a user activates Siri on their eligible iPhone, they will have an option to directly talk to ChatGPT and seek answers to complex questions, which Apple's voice assistant may not be able to handle. Ahead of the iOS 18.2 rollout, here are the key details iPhone users should know about the ChatGPT arrival.

What can iPhone users do with ChatGPT integration?

ChatGPT integration will be a part of Apple Intelligence, which means it will work on iPhone 15 Pro and higher models. It also requires the user to set their iPhone language to English (US), since that is the only supported language currently. ChatGPT integration will let OpenAI's chatbot work in iOS natively, as opposed to its functionality through the ChatGPT app. However, the experience may be about the same.

Talk to ChatGPT directly: According to the demonstration at the WWDC 2024, iPhone users can trigger ChatGPT by saying "Ask ChatGPT." Siri will immediately understand the request and send the query to ChatGPT.

iPhone users can create images using voice: One of the best functionalities of ChatGPT integration will be the ability to create images using voice prompts. While text inputs will also be supported, iPhone users could ask ChatGPT to create any sort of images based on their descriptions.

Compose better with ChatGPT: While the Writing Tools in Apple Intelligence help beautify write-ups and messages, they have a limited capability, In other words, they are not yet as good as ChatGPT, so the native support for the AI bot will offer users a better way to treat their messages. This functionality could be embedded into Writing Tools, according to reports.

No sign-up required: Currently, using ChatGPT for complex commands and requests requires users to sign up for the service. However, ChatGPT integration in Siri will eliminate this requirement. Still, users who want their data to be synced to their ChatGPT account will have the option to sign in to an existing account and even create a new one.
