Reliance, Brookfield, and Digital Realty unveil data centre partnership
As part of this transaction, each of the three companies will maintain an equal one-third (33.33 per cent) stake in the joint venture.
Reliance Industries, Brookfield Infrastructure, and Digital Realty have successfully concluded a transaction to establish a collaborative venture dedicated to data centre services, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.
In July 2023, the three entities formalised an agreement to invest in their existing special-purpose vehicle, Digital Connexion, with the objective of developing cutting-edge data centres in India.
"With this announcement, the joint venture will take on a new identity as Digital Connexion: A Brookfield, Jio, and Digital Realty Company, building upon the solid foundation laid by BAM Digital Realty," declared Digital Connexion.
As part of this transaction, each of the three companies will maintain an equal one-third (33.33 per cent) stake in the joint venture.
"The joint venture is actively propelling the development of strategically positioned data centres in Chennai and Mumbai. Its flagship greenfield data centre, MAA10, featuring a 20-megawatt (MW) IT load capacity on a potential 100 MW campus in Chennai, is set to launch in January 2024," emphasised the statement.
Furthermore, the joint venture recently secured 2.15 acres of land in Mumbai, paving the way for an expanded footprint through the planned construction of a 40 MW data centre.
