Reliance Jio introduces JioMotive to enhance vehicle connectivity

JioMotive: Reliance Jio has launched JioMotive, a device priced at Rs 4,999, designed to bring smart features to conventional cars. This offers a connected car experience by adding features such as location tracking and theft alerts, even to vehicles without built-in advanced features.

While many modern and high-end vehicles come with built-in internet connectivity, JioMotive's OBD adapter allows car owners to access similar features. The device offers insights into various aspects of a vehicle's performance, including location, engine health, and driving performance. This is particularly beneficial for owners of older or base-model vehicles.

How does JioMotive work?

JioMotive is a plug-and-play device that does not require professional installation. Users can easily get started by following the steps mentioned below”

• Download and install the JioThings app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Log in or sign up with a Jio number in the JioThings app and select JioMotive.
• Enter the IMEI number from the JioMotive device and input car details such as registration number, vehicle name, make, model, fuel type, and year of manufacture.
• Plug the JioMotive device into the car's OBD port and turn the car on in an area with good Jio network coverage.
• Agree to the terms and conditions of the JioEverywhereConnect Number Sharing Plan and enable it.
• Wait for activation, which may take about an hour. Contact customer care if assistance is needed.

JioMotive is also equipped with an e-SIM that shares data with the user's existing mobile data plan, eliminating the need for a separate SIM card or data plan. The device offers additional features like Geo-Fencing and Time Fence, which send alerts when the vehicle crosses predefined boundaries or is turned on during specific time periods.

Apart from its connectivity features, JioMotive offers insights into the vehicle's health, including battery health, engine load, coolant temperature, and air intake temperature. It also provides access to over 200+ engine diagnostic codes, enabling users to better understand and maintain their vehicle's performance.
