Asus ROG Phone 5 series launched in India: Check price and specifications

After months of anticipation, Asus has finally launched the ROG Phone 5 series in India. The series consists of two smartphones - Asus ROG Phone 5s and Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro. Both the devices come with Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset and a large AMOLED display with a higher refresh rate for gaming. They will be available to purchase from February 18, 2022, 12 PM onwards on Flipkart. Keep reading to know more about the Asus ROG Phone 5 series' features and price. 

Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro specifications

Display

The Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate and a whopping 360Hz native touch sampling rate. For gamers, touch latency on the device is 24ms and the display cover 150.89% of the sRGB colour gamut. Covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the display is built on a 24.9:9 aspect ratio and has a pixel density of 395 pixels per inch.

Processor

Under the hood, the Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset, which is an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.99 GHz. The processor comes along with an Adreno 660 GPU for handling the heaviest of games without any hassles. While the processor was launched in 2021, it is still one of the most powerful smartphone chips for Android devices and scores more than 800,000 points on the Antutu benchmark.

Memory and storage

The flagship processor on Asus ROG Phone 5s is coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro is equipped with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Memory options is also among the key differentiators between both smartphones. Additionally, both smartphones feature a wide array of sensors including the accelerator, E-Compass, proximity sensors, ambient light sensor, in-display fingerprint sensor, and gyro.

Cameras

The Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro come with a triple rear camera setup. The primary sensor on the smartphones is a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, a secondary 13MP ultra-wide and a tertiary 5MP macro lens. On the front panel, the smartphones have a 24MP selfies shooter. Along with the primary lens on smartphones, users will be able to shoot videos in 8K resolution (up to 30 fps) and in 4K resolution (up to 60 fps).

Multimedia features

Coming to the multimedia features of the smartphones, both the Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro have stereo speakers, a dedicated 3.5mm audio jack DAC for enhanced audio output, and a total of two charging ports. Apart from this, the gaming smartphone has a large 6,000 mAh battery that has been divided into two parts to ensure higher charging speeds (up to 30W with the adapter provided in the box) and minimal heat generation.  

Gaming accessories

For those who dare, the smartphones also support optional accessories for gaming, like the ROG Kunai 3 Gamepad for ROG Phone 5s, The professional dock that connects smartphones with an HDMI port, the ROG Clip that allows users to attach their smartphone with a PS4 and the Light Armor Case that boasts the LED lights on the rear panel of the smartphone.
