We are all well versed with our daily mode of transport: car, bus, metro, train, airplanes, and whatnot. But did you know that there are very uncanny and bizarre modes of transport all across the globe. Some of these, you must have even never heard about. 

Hanging upside down, sliding into canals, floating in water, all of these modes have some of the most uncanny experiences to offer.

Suspension monorail, Wuhan 

This moves all around Wuhan while hanging upside down. Launched recently in September, this mode of transport offers commuters a surreal experience like riding a futuristic vehicle in a sci-fi movie. This train has two cars that can accommodate 200 passengers and offer them a 270-degree view of the surroundings.

Cocotaxi, Cuba 

Launched in the 90s, the Cocotaxi was a gift for Cuba. To simplify, it is nothing but an immensely cuter version of our daily autorickshaws. It is a big hit among tourists. Resembling a half coconut, if you are headed to Cuba, make sure you don’t miss ride in this beloved mode of transport.

Car rapides in Dakar

This mode of transportation was built in France in the 1970s and then sent to Africa. These are neither cars nor rickshaws but heavy and bulky buses moving along crowded streets of Senegal’s capital in Dakar. This mode of transport is available in a large number. However, it is now being phased out to improve the traffic conditions. 

Coracles

Not just in one but this mode of transportation can be seen in several parts. Indian destinations like Hampi, Hogenakkal, Coimbatore are a few destinations that house these boats. However, it is not a recent development. These boats have been around for thousands of years and in multiple parts of the globe, including Wales, Ireland, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
