Did Trump Compromise Israel's Safety for Saudi Investments?

The United States has agreed to move ahead with selling F-35 stealth jets to Riyadh, along with deeper military cooperation under a new strategic partnership. Saudi Arabia has also been given major non-NATO ally status, which opens the door to faster arms transfers, joint projects and long-term security commitments. For Saudi Arabia, this deal is a huge upgrade. It boosts its air power, strengthens its role in the Gulf and signals that Washington sees Riyadh as a central pillar in its regional strategy. What makes this moment important is how openly the United States seems willing to overlook Israel’s earlier concerns. For years, Washington avoided giving such advanced systems to any country that could come close to Israel’s military edge. But this time, the urgency of countering Iran, keeping China out of the Gulf and securing energy cooperation has pushed Saudi Arabia to the front of the line. Israel may not like it, but the U.S. clearly wants a stronger Saudi partnership right now.
