LRLACM Tested: India’s 1500km Missile Surpasses BrahMos Range

India's DRDO has successfully tested the LRLACM, a long-range land attack cruise missile that changes how the Indian armed forces think about deep strike. Unlike the supersonic BrahMos, this subsonic cruise missile trades raw speed for extraordinary range, flying up to 1500 kilometres while hugging terrain at very low altitudes to stay hidden from enemy radar. Powered by the indigenous Manik turbofan engine, the LRLACM builds on the Nirbhay cruise missile program with upgraded guidance, waypoint navigation and precision seekers for terminal strike. It can be launched from mobile ground vehicles, naval vertical launch systems and potentially aircraft, giving the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force a shared deep strike platform. Targets like air bases, command centres and logistics hubs hundreds of kilometres inside enemy territory are now within reach from secure positions. This video breaks down exactly how it works and why India needed it.
