Mission Sudarshan Chakra: Indian Army To Acquire AK-630 Guns For Border Defence Shield

Under Mission Sudarshan Chakra, the Indian Army has initiated the process to procure six AK-630 air-defence guns to strengthen protection along critical border areas. These 30mm multi-barrel systems, to be supplied by Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited, are part of a larger plan to establish a layered “Kavach” defence shield by 2035. The mission, unveiled by PM Narendra Modi, aims to enhance India’s preparedness against aerial threats and safeguard vital installations.
