Muzammil’s Family Give Conflicting Accounts, Deny Links To Terror Activities
The family of Muzammil Shakeel, an Al-Falah University professor accused of having ties to Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammad and the Delhi Red Fort blast, has come under investigation after giving inconsistent accounts. Muzammil’s mother, Naseema, claimed she hadn’t spoken to him in four years and denied any awareness of his alleged involvement in terror activities, appealing for his release.
In contrast, his brother, Azad Shakeel, admitted to meeting Muzammil twice a year, raising doubts about the family’s claims of innocence despite asserting they are “Indians by heart.” The contradictory statements have fueled suspicion that the family might be concealing crucial information.
Investigators uncovered that Muzammil had hidden around 2,900 kg of explosives, weapons, and ammonium nitrate near Al-Falah University, directly linking him to the Red Fort blast that killed nine people. Police have arrested eight individuals, all residents of Jammu and Kashmir, associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad, placing Muzammil at the core of the terror plot.
