Video: New Delhi Reminded Of A Painful Past As Red Fort Blasts Kill 9

A powerful explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, 2025, claimed nine lives and injured 20 others, breaking 14 years of relative peace in the capital. The blast, triggered in a Hyundai i20 at the Subhash Marg traffic signal, is believed to involve Dr. Umar Nabi of Pulwama, who is suspected to have links with Jaish-e-Mohammad—indicating a possible Pakistan-based terror angle. Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the incident, while NSG, NIA, and FSL teams have launched a comprehensive probe.

The tragedy has reopened old wounds, reminding the capital of a series of past terror strikes across decades—from the 1996 Lajpat Nagar blast and the 2000 Sadar Bazar explosion to the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2005 Paharganj blast, the 2008 serial blasts in Connaught Place, and the 2011 Delhi High Court bombing. Each of these attacks left casualties, fear, and major security questions in their wake.

The Red Fort blast once again highlights how Delhi has repeatedly been targeted at iconic and crowded locations, underscoring the city’s ongoing vulnerability to terror threats and the urgent need for strengthened intelligence and vigilance.
