Punjab Politics: Congress Leader Partap Singh Bajwa Accuses AAP Govt For Taking 1000 Crore Bribe
Punjab Politics: A contentious dispute over accusations of corruption between the opposition Congress and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) kicked off the final day of the two-day Punjab Assembly special session. Partap Singh Bajwa, the leader of the opposition, accused the AAP administration of financial impropriety during Question Hour, citing a PSPCL association's allegation that officials were directed to gather money for the Delhi elections. Harbhajan Singh ETO, the power minister of Punjab, refuted the accusations and placed the blame on the Congress party. When Bajwa expressed worries about a report purportedly identifying 48 tax officials as corrupt by a former vigilance chief, the discussion became even more heated. A retired tax official further asserted that corruption at tehsil offices amounted to Rs 1,000 crore per month.
