'500 Cold Emails, 10 Interviews' : Pune Engineer's Journey to Tesla Job Inspires Internet

Pune: An engineer, Dhruv Loya, shared his experience of landing a job at Elon Musk's Tesla company on LinkedIn. Loya sent over 300 applications and more than 500 emails to the company. Ultimately, after completing ten rounds of interviews over five months, he received an offer from his dream company.

"I finally got the job!" Loya, originally from Pune, wrote on LinkedIn. He expressed deep gratitude to everyone who believed in him, supported him, and stood by his side as he shared the conclusion of a challenging journey.

Now working as a Technical Support Specialist at Tesla, Loya reminisced about the struggles he faced during his five-month job hunt in the U.S. "Despite having three internships, a good GPA, and coursework, I never imagined I would be in such a position. I was unemployed for five months. I lost my health insurance and was worried about my visa, knowing that I could be forced to leave the U.S. at any moment."

During that time, he stayed with friends and saved every dollar to remain in the U.S. "I have now secured a full-time position as a Technical Support Specialist at Tesla!"

Loya spoke about how challenging the job market is for international students. He utilized platforms like Hunter.io, LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake, Jobright.ai, and ChatGPT+ for resumes and cover letters. "My advice to everyone facing this struggle is that your job is from 9 to 5, but use your evenings and weekends to relax and do what you love... just stay positive."
