Viral Video: Uber Driver Kicks Out Passengers After Alleged Anti-India Remarks: ‘You’re a Pakistani’
A viral video shows a Delhi Uber driver ejecting passengers after an argument over alleged anti-India remarks, sparking controversy.
A recent incident in Delhi has ignited widespread debate on social media after a video of an Uber driver engaging in a heated argument with a Pakistani man and his girlfriend went viral. The incident, which occurred on the night of August 9th, shows the driver angrily confronting the couple, accusing them of insulting the people of Delhi.
The video captures the driver’s outburst, where he declares, “You’re a Pakistani. Halala ki aulaad ho tum log (You guys are the offspring of Halala),” as he demanded that the couple leave his vehicle. According to reports, the argument began when the driver warned the duo not to offend Delhiites, insisting that he would not tolerate any such behavior.
In the video, the woman can be heard defending her partner, claiming that he had not insulted anyone, but was merely criticizing the people of Delhi for being selfish. She also highlighted that criticism from Mumbai residents towards Delhiites is often ignored, but when it comes from a Pakistani, it becomes a significant issue. Furthermore, she questioned the relevance of the driver bringing up his Brahmin caste in the conversation.
The argument escalated further as the driver refused to continue the ride, leaving the couple stranded on the road late at night. The woman, while filming, expressed her frustration, saying, “It is 12:30 in the night and this man is dropping us on the road. See, this is Modi ji’s India,” directly blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the incident. The driver retorted, “Yes, this is Hindustan. This is not your Pakistan. You are a product of halala.”
The term "halala" refers to a controversial practice within certain Muslim communities where a divorced woman must marry and consummate the marriage with another man before she can remarry her first husband.
The incident has divided opinions online, with many netizens expressing support for the driver's actions. They argued that the driver understood the underlying issue that the woman allegedly failed to grasp, emphasizing the difference between those who support the nation and those who do not.
As the video continues to circulate, the debate over the driver's remarks and the couple's behavior is likely to persist, raising questions about nationalism, tolerance, and freedom of expression in contemporary India.
