Baku: Troops 'seize' Nagorno-Karabakh army tanks

Fighting continued in the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh on Thursday.

Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry said shelling of settlements near Nagorno-Karabakh has been carried out by Armenian forces, causing casualties among the civil population.

The Defence Ministry also claimed its troops have seized tanks and ammunition belonging to the army of the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

Video footage shared by the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry allegedly shows abandoned tanks being driven by Azerbaijani soldiers in the village of Horadiz, Fizuli region.

Armenian authorities said Azerbaijan's army tried to launch an offensive in the southern direction of the contact line on Thursday morning.

Clashes between Azerbaijani and Armenian forces in the region since September 27 have killed hundreds in the worst escalation of hostilities since 1994 when a truce ended a war that raged for several years.
