BTS RM refuses to apologise over Bad Religion lyrics controversy
RM hosted a live session on Wednesday. When fans tried to get his attention to the Bad Religion controversy the rapper admitted that he is aware of it.
BTS RM is soon to enlist for his mandatory military service in South Korea. The rapper recently came under fire for sharing Frank Ocean’s Bad Religion song on his Instagram story. The track seemingly features 'offensive' lyrics which faced objection from the fans who asked him to apologise. RM addressed the issue in a recent live session.

RM breaks silence on controversy
RM hosted a live session on Weverse on Wednesday. When fans tried to get his attention to the Bad Religion controversy the rapper admitted that he is aware of it but he doesn’t feel like he did anything wrong. He said, "You guys keep saying I insulted a religion but I didn't. There was no intention or purpose to insult a religion. I respect every belief and every religion. I know what's going on Instagram, I can see but there was no such purpose or intention to insult a religion.”
Namjoon reaffirmed that he does not harbour any enmity for anyone based on their religion, skin colour, or gender identity and instead greatly respects them. The rapper added he will not apologise for singing or stating his 'truth', which was not meant to offend anyone or their religious or ideological convictions. RM stated, “I'm not apologizing. I have my own soul. I'm 30 years old, and I can express my truth.”
What is the Bad Religion controversy?
The conversation between a person and their cab driver, who also doubles as their therapist, served as the basis for the lyrics of Frank Ocean's song Bad Religion which has sparked a controversy.
The fans have taken offence to the song's harsh message. There are numerous ways to interpret the songs, but fans and those who found it offensive criticised RM for sharing it with Instagram followers.
