STORYLINE:
Germany's foreign minister Heiko Maas met Tuesday with the foreign minister of Slovakia, Ivan Korcok, in Berlin.
In a news conference, the leaders commented on the situation in Ukraine, the ongoing talks in Vienna with Iran and the case of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
"It is good news that Russia has announced that it will withdraw its troops (from the border with Ukraine), and these words must now be followed by corresponding actions very quickly," Maas said.
Maas also discussed the ongoing JCPOA talks in Vienna focused on bringing the United States back into the nuclear deal with Iran.
"It will be necessary that things change massively, both in Iran and with regard to the sanctions. I think we will also see in the foreseeable future whether this path, which everyone seems to be taking, will also lead to a goal and a result," he said.
On Navalny, Korcok said Navalny should get "a fair process" from Russian authorities.
