Protests in Mexico, Chile against Russian invasion

Protesters gathered outside the Russian Embassy in Mexico City on Saturday calling for the end of the invasion of Ukraine. They held Ukrainian flags and other signs to show their solidarity with the nation which was continuing to fend off airstrikes on cities and military bases around the country.

A similar rally was also held in the Chilean capital, Santiago.

Russia claims its assault on Ukraine is aimed only at military targets, but bridges, schools and residential neighborhoods have been hit since the invasion began on Thursday with air and missile strikes and Russian troops entering Ukraine from the north, east and south.
