Ukraine claims Russian shelled city of Enerhodar, near Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

Ukrainian authorities said Russia on Sunday night shelled the city of Enerhodar, located near Europe's largest nuclear plant.

The city's mayor Dmytro Orlov wrote on his social media page that two civilian districts were shelled, injuring 10 people.

He wrote that the Russians "are working out a scenario" ahead of the International Atomic Emergency Agency's planned visit to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

Andrii Yermak, the head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration, posted a video claiming to show the aftermath of the strike with vehicles on fire and firefighters trying to extinguish it.

Europe's largest nuclear plant has been occupied by Russian forces and run by Ukrainian workers since the early days of the 6-month-old war.

Ukraine alleges Russia is essentially holding the plant hostage, storing weapons there and launching attacks from around it while Moscow accuses Ukraine of recklessly firing on the facility.
