The K-Pop group SEVENTEEN recently made a successful comeback with their album FML. Weeks later, a member of the band Joshua got embroiled in a dating scandal with model Cho Mi Young. In recent developments, fans have expressed their disappointment by sending protest trucks to their company HYBE.
What sparked the rumour?
Joshua became the subject of romantic rumours involving a model when similarities between the Instagram posts were pointed out by a user. The fan claimed that they were posting photos of identical products and items while referring to them as a couple items.
They claimed it was a sizable collection and pointed out phone covers, jackets, accessories, purses, and many more things. Many Korean admirers began to think it might be true and begged one another to refrain from disparaging the Rock With You singer or his rumoured lover. The rumors, however, have not been substantiated by either the member or his label, PLEDIS.
Later, a video from the band's July 2023 Follow To Seoul concert went viral on social media. In it, Joshua's purported girlfriend was quickly identified by internet users since the video was live-streamed, allowing viewers to see it again. The model was visible standing in one of the performance venue's galleries.
Who's saying what?
As soon as the fans learned about this, they did everything in their power to support and defend Joshua from the netizens. In an effort to raise awareness of the problem and draw PLEDIS Entertainment's attention to it, fans have begun using trending hashtags onX, formerly known as Twitter.
They have also been sending mass emails to the management asking them to contact PLEDIS as soon as possible to resolve the matter. Additionally, they have been trying to report and block any accounts that have been planning to harm the idol and his organisation. Since supporters think that ANTIs' ongoing remarks and actions will have a negative impact on Joshua and inadvertently, on the entire SEVENTEEN in general.
