Over the two-day period since Friday, 11 people were killed and 1 person went missing from the downpour in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province, Yonhap reported, citing the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
A landslide destroyed five houses in Gokseong on Friday night, killing five people.
According to the latest official figures, the heavy rain that continued from August 1 across the country led to the largest casualties caused by torrential rain since 2011.
The Ministry also said 4,466 people in 11 cities and provinces have been left homeless.
