UK pledges to send £30 million additional aid for Palestinian civilians in Gaza amid crisis

Humanitarian aid of £30 million, announced by UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, will be provided to support trusted partners, including United Nations agencies on the ground, to deliver lifesaving aid to people in Gaza. The announcement follows his visit to Israel, where meetings were held separately with the President and Prime Minister.

The additional aid announced by the UK for Palestinians, totalling £60 million since the crisis began in October, has been highlighted in the new announcement by Cameron, as stated in the press release from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. In the press release, they called for all parties to continue working for the release of hostages as emphasised by Cameron, who also mentioned that a pause would enable access to life-saving aid for the people of Gaza.

7. The Royal Air Force (RAF) aircraft transported 23 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including 4,500 blankets and 4,500 sleeping mats, for distribution by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

Meanwhile, Netanyahu expressed the hope of getting hostages out, acknowledging challenges, and reiterated the commitment to release everyone, followed by a continuation of war aims to eradicate Hamas.
