Kylaq vs Syros: Buyers planning to buy a sub-4m compact SUV have two new additions. Recently, this segment witnessed two new launches, the Kia Syros and the Skoda Kylaq. Both SUVs offer a host of convenience and safety features and have a bold and sporty exterior design. Skoda Kylaq has scored a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. Since both the cars are priced under ₹9 lakh budget, here is a feature-by-feature comparison of these two cars:

Kia Syros vs Skoda Kylaq: Price

The price of the Skoda Kylaq is ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Classic variant. The price of the Kia Syros is ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base HTE variant.

Kia Syros vs Skoda Kylaq: Safety Rating:

Regarding the safety ratings, the Skoda Kylaq scored a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. It comes with six airbags, ABS, EBD, and other safety features. The Kia Syros has not been crash-tested yet. Regarding safety features, Syros has Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, ABS, EBD, and other safety features.

Kia Syros vs Skoda Kylaq: Design

The design of the Skoda Kylaq is similar to the Kushaq. It has a split LED headlamp setup and a similar grill to the Kushaq. The Kia Syros on the other hand has a vertical setup for the headlamps, with a triple LED projector and LED DRL. The bonnet line of the Syros is slightly higher than the Kylaq.

On the side, both SUVs run on 17-inch alloy wheels on their top variants. The Kia Syros has flush door handles for better looks and aerodynamics, whereas the Kylaq has regular handles.

At the rear, the Skoda Kylaq comes with a boot space of 446L, and the Kia Syros has a boot space of 365L to 465L since it has reclining and sliding rear seats that can enhance the boot space of the Syros.

Kia Syros vs Skoda Kylaq: Interiors:

The interiors of the Skoda Kylaq are different from the Kia Syros. The Skoda Kylaq has a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a dual-tone dashboard, and a two-spoke steering wheel which is also seen on the Slavia and the Kushaq. On the other hand, the Kia Syros has a connected 10.25-inch infotainment screen, with 5-inch air conditioning controls, and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. The Syros has physical controls for the multiple functions of the screen and both the SUVs are feature-loaded. The Kia Syros stands ahead of the Skoda Kylaq by offering the rear seat recline and sliding function, which enhances the rear seat experience.

Kia Syros vs Skoda Kylaq: Features:

Regarding the feature list on offer, the Kia Syros is slightly ahead of the Skoda Kylaq. The standout features of the Kia Syros are all four-seat ventilation functions, 64-colour ambient lighting, electronic parking brake, a panoramic sunroof, driving modes, and more. The Skoda Kylaq has features such as front-ventilated seats, a regular sunroof, wireless connectivity for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more.

Kia Syros vs Skoda Kylaq: Engine Specifications

Buyers planning for the Kia Syros have two engine options to opt from. There is a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, producing 120BHP and 170Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT gearbox. Buyers also have a diesel engine to opt for. It is a 1.5L diesel engine, producing 115BHP and 253Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the buyers of the Skoda Kylaq have a single-engine option to opt for. It has a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, producing 115BHP and 170Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
