Alice Walton has officially become the richest woman on the planet, with a net worth of $102 billion. According to the Hurun Global Rich List 2025, her fortune surged by 46% over the past year, primarily due to a rise in Walmart’s stock price.

Notably, Walton also secured the ninth spot among the top 10 biggest gainers in wealth this year, per the Hurun India Rich List 2025.

Who Is Alice Walton?

Alice Walton, 75, has largely focused on art and philanthropy rather than playing an active role in Walmart’s business operations like her brothers, Rob Walton and Jim Walton.
She founded the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in 2011 in her hometown, Bentonville, Arkansas.

The museum houses works from iconic artists such as Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell, and Mark Rothko.

In 2022, her holistic health institute in Bentonville was renamed the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine.

Walton’s passion for art started young—at just 11, she purchased a 25-cent Picasso print titled “Blue Nude”, marking the beginning of her lifelong interest in collecting masterpieces.

After earning her degree from Trinity College in 1971, Walton briefly worked at Walmart as a buyer for children’s clothing, before fully immersing herself in the art world.
