Specialty chemicals manufacturer Ami Organics, headquartered in Surat, has announced the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing unit in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, backed by an investment of approximately Rs 200 crore.

The move is part of the company's strategic commitment to reinforcing its presence in the advanced pharmaceutical intermediates segment, according to a statement released by Ami Organics.

The new plant, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, signifies Ami Organics' dedication to advancing pharmaceutical intermediate manufacturing in India, said Naresh Patel, the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Ami Organics.

The facility has been constructed using modern advanced technology and has secured all necessary environmental clearances. However, the commencement of production is contingent on obtaining essential regulatory approvals.

The investment is a testament to Ami Organics' vision of technological innovation and underscores its efforts to strengthen its position in the pharmaceutical industry.

Shares of the company settled at Rs 1,140.65 apiece on the BSE, reflecting a 0.23 per cent increase.
