About 1,000 applications for the installation of mobile towers in Uttar Pradesh, with a particular concentration in Noida and Ghaziabad, are currently awaiting approval, according to the Digital Infrastructure Providers' Association (DIPA).

The DIPA has highlighted challenges faced by telecom infrastructure providers in obtaining permissions for deploying infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, specifically in Noida and Ghaziabad.
R Dua, the Director General of DIPA, stated that despite submitting applications through the online portal Nivesh Mitra, the single window system of the Uttar Pradesh government, and providing all necessary documents along with the application fee, no permissions for telecom infrastructure deployment have been granted.

DIPA revealed that nearly 1,000 applications are pending, with members having already made non-refundable payments of Rs 1,000 each, totaling Rs 10 lakh.
Prominent DIPA members include ATC Telecom, Indus Towers, Ascend Telecom, Summit Digitel, Sterlite Technologies, Crest Digitel, Suyog Telematics, Signotox Towers, iBus Infrastructure, Applied Solar Technologies (AST), CloudExtel, and Pratap Technocrats.

Dua urged the Government of Uttar Pradesh to expedite the clearance of all pending applications to facilitate a faster rollout of 5G services in the state.
