Honeywell Automation India Limited’s building solutions business has secured a contract from Reliance Life Sciences (RLS) for building management and safety technology, the company said Tuesday.

The contract “encompasses a seven-year annual maintenance support commitment,” Honeywell said in a statement.

The integrated operating company in aviation, energy and automation will assist Reliance’s biotechnology arm with supply, installation, testing and commissioning of integrated building management command and control and environment monitoring systems.

Ashish Modi, President, Honeywell India called the win “significant” in the pharmaceutical vertical, saying the company will integrate and deploy Honeywell’s Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) Command Control Suite and CLSS. 

This integration allows Reliance Life Sciences to oversee numerous operations and stations across the 160-acre facility in Nashik, Maharashtra more efficiently.

In October, Honeywell announced a new infrared-based (IR) technology that quickly and reliably detects hydrogen flames before they grow into major fires.
