The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2024), alleging significant irregularities in the conduct and evaluation of the examination. The demand follows widespread reports of discrepancies from various examination centers across the country, including the presence of unauthorized solvers and improper distribution of question papers.

Addressing a press conference in Surat, ABVP National General Secretary Yagyawalkya Shukla highlighted the growing mistrust among students regarding the transparency of NEET-UG. He questioned the National Testing Agency's (NTA) decision to announce the exam results on the same day as the Lok Sabha election results, suggesting it was an attempt to divert attention from the alleged mismanagement.

Shukla emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to restore confidence in the examination process. "Many toppers of this year's NEET-UG examination were from the same center, which has raised suspicions about the integrity of the results," he stated. He also noted that similar concerns have been raised about the NTA's handling of other examinations, such as the UGC-NET.

Dr. Abhinandan K. Bokriya, national convener of ABVP's MeDeVision, expressed deep sorrow over reports of student suicides following the announcement of NEET-UG results. He called for immediate action to ensure a trustworthy examination environment, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability in the administration of such critical exams.

ABVP's demands for a CBI inquiry aim to address these concerns and hold those responsible accountable for any malpractices. The student organization stands in solidarity with NEET-UG candidates, advocating for justice and a fair evaluation process.
