GATE 2025: The online registration window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will close tomorrow, September 26.
GATE 2025: The online registration window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will close tomorrow, September 26. The GATE 2025 registration began on August 28. Aspirants can register online at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. This year, the Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT ) Roorkee will conduct the exam. The last date to register with a late fee is October 7. IIT-Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16.
How to Register for GATE 2025
- Visit the official website-https://gate2025.iitr.ac.in/
- Under the ‘Application’ tab click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab
- Register yourself by clicking on ‘Register Here’
- Now, log in using your enrollment ID/ Email address and password.
- Fill out the form and choose your combination of papers
- Pay the application fee and submit it.

Last date to register for GATE 2025: September 26
Last date to register with an additional late fee: October 7
GATE 2025 Admit Card: January 2, 2025.

GATE 2025 Exam
IIT Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 exams between February 1 and 16 in two shifts:
Forenoon session: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (IST)
Afternoon session: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (IST)
GATE 2025 Application Fee
Candidates will need to pay an application fee to finalize their registration. The fee structure is as follows:
SC/ST/PwD categories and female candidates: ₹900
All other candidates: ₹1,800
GATE 2025
The GATE 2025 exam will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for 30 different test papers conducted during both forenoon and afternoon sessions.
"GATE 2025 will be conducted for 30 test papers. The following table shows the list of papers with codes. Please click the Paper/Code to download the syllabus. A candidate is allowed to appear either in one or up to two test papers," the official website reads.
GATE 2025 is conducted jointly by IISc and seven IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee, under the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. GATE 2025 is conducted for candidates seeking admissions to:
- Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities; and
- Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
