'Working Overtime Not Allowed,' Says Canara Bank in Apprenticeship Notification For 3000 Vacancies

Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2024: Canara Bank will open the registration window for apprentice posts tomorrow, September 21. The bank is offering 3000 vacancies for apprenticeships for graduates. In its detailed notification, the bank has clearly stated that apprentices will not be allowed to work overtime. 

Amidst the ongoing controversy over the death of an EY Pune employee due to alleged ‘overtime and work stress' in the office, followed by similar allegations of employees of other MNCs, the bank has mentioned in its recruitment notification that the apprentices will not be required or allowed to work overtime. 

Overtime Not Allowed!

Canara Bank has strictly notified that no apprentice shall be required or allowed to work overtime. The official notification reads, “No Apprentice shall be required or allowed to work overtime except with the approval of the Apprenticeship Adviser who shall not grant such approval unless he is satisfied that such overtime is in the interest of the training of the Apprentice or the public interest.”

Aspirants can register themselves online on the official website- www.nats.education.gov.in. The registered candidates will have to apply for the vacancies on the official website of the bank at canarabank.com. The last date to apply is October 4. Candidates with 100% complete profiles on the Apprenticeship portal only are eligible to apply. No other means/mode of application will be accepted. 

Canara Bank Apprentice: Eligibility Criteria

Applicants having a graduate degree in any discipline from a government-recognised university or an equivalent qualification approved by the central government of India can apply for the posts. Candidates born between September 1, 1996, and September 1, 2004, can apply.

Stipend

A monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/- (including subsidy amount, if any, by Govt. of India) shall be paid to the apprentice during the period of apprenticeship. The Apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances/ benefits. Canara Bank will make a payment of 10,500/- into the apprentices' account monthly. The government share of a stipend of Rs 4500 will be directly credited to the apprentices' Bank account through DBT mode as per extant guidelines.

Canara Bank Recruitment: Selection Process

The merit list of candidates will be prepared State-wise in descending order based on marks/percentage obtained in the 12th Std (HSC/10+2)/ Diploma Examination. In case more than one candidate has the same percentage, such candidates will be ranked according to their age in descending order of merit. 

Final selection will be based on verification of the eligibility for the training seat and information furnished in the online application, qualification in the test of local language for the State opted and declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank.

Application Fees: The fee for all candidates is Rs 500, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted. Applicants have to make online payments only.
