New Delhi: The Supreme Court is set to hear a petition by NEET PG 2024 aspirants on Friday (September 13), regarding the transparency of the results in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) exam and clarity of normalisation scores and resultsFiled on September 7, the petition calls on the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to release the response sheets, raw scores, pre-normalized scores, normalized results, and answer keys for both exam shifts.

The petitioners have also asked for the NEET PG 2024 counselling process to be suspended until these issues are resolved, and they seek the option of revaluation for dissatisfied students. They further propose that the release of answer keys, question papers, and revaluation options should be standard in future exams to ensure transparency.

The petition, led by Ishika Jain and other candidates, has been filed under diary number 41088/2024. Their advocate, Parul Shukla, will argue that the release of the answer key is critical for maintaining transparency and trust in the evaluation process.

The NEET PG 2024 results were announced by NBEMS on August 23, leading to concerns among students over their unexpectedly low ranks. Some students compared their scores with unofficial answer keys and alleged discrepancies in the ranking process. Aspirants also submitted a request to NBEMS on September 4, asking for the release of the answer key and the opening of a grievance portal.

The Supreme Court's decision is crucial, with the counselling process approaching and students seeking a timely resolution.
