New Delhi: Surat's Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), known for its frequent controversies, has once again made headlines. The latest issue involves the poor results of the Master of Arts in Economics (MA Economics) external exam. Out of 141 students who took the exam, only one passed, sparking widespread concern and raising several questions about the university's examination process.

The fact that 140 out of 141 students failed has led to speculation about the difficulty of the exam, potential errors in the evaluation process, and possible irregularities. The university is now under pressure to provide clear explanations and address the concerns of students. Improving the examination system is seen as crucial to prevent such incidents in the future.

As per the data, 192 students registered for the exam, out of which 51 were absent. Among the 141 present, only one student passed, resulting in a pass percentage of just 0.71%. Students have filed complaints demanding a thorough investigation.

University Registrar, Ramesh Gadhvi confirmed receiving complaints and urged other affected students to come forward. He assured that the university is investigating the reasons behind the poor results.

In December 2023, VNSGU was embroiled in another controversy when students wrote inappropriate content, including love stories and obscene language, in their BA-BCom exam papers. Six students were penalized and fined for their misconduct. This earlier incident, coupled with the recent exam results, highlights ongoing issues within the university's examination system.
