Days after former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi alleged that there was a plot to kill her husband and fellow former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav in the hospital by poisoning him, Deputy CM of Bihar Sushil Modi had mocked the claims by the family. Following the developments, a Twitter spat has broken out between former deputy CM and Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav and Sushil Modi.

Sushil Modi took to Twitter to write that the claim that Lalu Yadav's food can be poisoned by a family member because of the feud in their family.

In reply to the claims by Deputy CM of Bihar, Tejashwi said that Sushil Modi is 'Lalu-phobic' and has lost 'sense of ethics.'

Earlier, Tej Pratap had said that the government can detain his father but cannot pull him out of people's heart.

"Lalu ji was in the hearts of people. Lalu Ji is in the hearts of people. BJP can detain him but they cannot pull him out of people's heart and minds."

On Saturday, Rabri Devi had alleged that the central government is trying to kill her husband Lalu Yadav by poisoning him, while he is in jail. Her comments came after the family was denied their meeting with Lalu Yadav on Saturday.

Rebel JD(U) MP Sharad Yadav who is contesting from Madhepura on a RJD ticket, also came in support of the Lalu family.

"In light of what is happening with Lalu ji and Rabri ji is so unhappy, we all must think why is it happening to them. It is clear that the government is afraid of those who fight for social justice. And the way they suspended me from the Parliament, it shows this government is in fear."

The three cases in which Lalu Yadav has been convicted are related to the over Rs. 900-crore fodder scam, which pertains to fraudulent withdrawal of money from the treasuries in the Animal Husbandry department in the early 1990s, when Jharkhand was still a part of Bihar.
