In a massive newsbreak, the Election Commission rejected the nomination of Samajwadi Party candidate from Varanasi parliamentary constituency Tej Bahadur Yadav on Wednesday. Reacting to the development, AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter and put the blame of rejection of Tej Bahadur's election nomination on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a tweet, Arvind Kejriwal, who fought the 2014 polls against PM Modi from Varanasi and lost with a massive margin, alleged that the Prime Minister got scared of the competition from a soldier and got his election nomination rejected, calling it a technical fault.

"There will be fewer incidents in history when the Jawan of the country is compelled to challenge their PM. However, this is the first time in history when a PM got scared of the competition from a soldier that in spite of facing him, he got his election nomination cancelled. Mr. Modi, you have turned out to be very weak. The country's jawan has won," Arvind Kejriwal wrote to Twitter.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had extended support and congratulatory wishes to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over the candidature of Tej Bahadur Yadav against PM Modi from Varanasi.

"Akhilesh ji, many congratulations to you. I salute Tej Bahadur for contesting against the Prime Minister. On one side there is the man who sacrificed his life for the nation and then lost his job due to the fight for his right, one the other side, there is the man who asks for votes in the name of the martyrdom of soldiers and snatching away the jobs of those who protest against the system," Kejriwal wrote to Twitter replying to Samajwadi Party's tweet.

Furthermore, AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) also asked the Congress party to withdraw its candidate Ajay Rai from Varanasi, following the nomination of Tej Bahadur. Taking to Twitter, AAP leader and Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had written: "Now Congress should also withdraw its candidate from Varanasi".
