After Delhi, INDI Over in Haryana? Bhupinder Hooda Says Congress To Contest Assembly Polls Alone
Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday, June 11, said that the Congress party will contest the upcoming Haryana assembly elections on its own.
New Delhi: Days after calling off its alliance with Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, the Congress seems determined to end the INDI alliance in Haryana as well. Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday, June 11, said that the Congress party will contest the upcoming Haryana assembly elections on its own. Assembly elections in Haryana are due to be held in October.
Asserting that Congress' vote-percentage has increased significantly in the state in just-concluded Lok Sabha elections, Hooda said that the INDI alliance is functional only at national level. “Congress' vote percentage has increased by about 20 per cent. This is a clear indication that people have made up their minds to bring a Congress government. We've alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party at the national level and not at the state level,” said Bhupinder Hooda, as quoted by ANI.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP had won all the 10 seats in the state, but in this Lok Sabha polls, Congress wrested five seats.
