PM Narendra Modi to Cast His Vote in Gujarat on May 7 | Lok Sabha Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat tomorrow to cast his vote. “After today’s exceptional programmes in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, reached Gujarat. In the morning tomorrow, 7th May, I will be voting in Ahmedabad. I urge all those who are to vote tomorrow to do so in record numbers as well.,” tweeted PM Modi.

Congress President has approved the proposal to appoint the following leaders as AICC Observers for the General Elections to the Parliamentary constituencies in Delhi, with immediate effect.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has filed a complaint against Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar over his statement on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The BJP has demanded an enquiry by the Election Commission of India and action for violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

"The Opposition has a track record of corruption, whereas (PM) Modi ji doesn't have even a single such blot throughout his political career. TMC (Trinamool Congress) is fully immersed in 'cut money' culture and makes infiltrators its vote bank. (West Bengal CM) Mamata Banerjee should be ashamed of her activities," Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on the Jharkhand cash haul.

"People listen to India now. People have this misconception that India is in too much poverty. After PM Narendra Modi, Niti Aayog says, in 10 years, Rs 25 crore people have come out of poverty. India came from rank 11 to 5. India will stand in Top 3 by 2027," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a public rally in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said he was taking legal advice on how to return the money of poor people 'looted' in corruption. Referring to the seizure of "mounds of cash" by the Enforcement Directorate from the domestic help allegedly linked to the secretary of a Jharkhand minister, Modi wondered why such persons were "close to the Congress' first family". "They have made the worker's house a godown of corruption. This is not the first time as a bigger seizure was made from an MP (in Jharkhand) earlier also and it was such a big cache that even machines were tired of counting." The PM was addressing a rally at Vemagiri, Andhra Pradesh, attended by TDP leader Nara Lokesh and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.

"Why is that those, from whom mounds of cash is recovered, are close to the Congress' first family? Was the seized cash meant for supply somewhere, is it that Congress' first family has created warehouses of black money? The country wants to know from Congress ‘shehzada’," he said in an apparent jibe at Rahul Gandhi.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has asked political parties to remove fake content from social media within three hours of coming to their notice.

Congress leader Rakesh Kumar Singh on Monday criticised actress-politician Kangana Ranaut for making "personal" attacks against her competitors. "Kangana is suffering from mental ailment and making baseless statements," said Singh. Ranaut is BJP's candidate from Mandi and the Congress leader is the observer for Mandi and Jogindernagar assembly segments.

Maha Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has reacted to the statement of Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. “The statement by Vijay Wadettiwar regarding the martyred policemen and innocent Mumbaikars who lost their lives in the 26/11 attacks is highly irritating and infuriating. Vijay Wadettiwar seems to have lost his senses following the slogan of Rahul Gandhi, who is not conducting Bharat Jodo Yatra but 'Bharat Todo Yatra' (Not Unite Bharat Yatra, but Break India Yatra)," said the CM.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh, as part of his campaign for Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

“The Congress gave 5% reservation to Muslims in Karnataka. They took SC/ST reservation,” said Home Minister Amit Shah in Ujiarpur, Bihar today. “We will remove Muslim reservation from Karnataka. This reservation is unconstitutional,” he added.

“After June 4, NDA govt will resolve all your problems,” said PM Modi at a rally in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh today.

Karimnagar, Telangana: BJP Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai says, “There is a strong Modi wave and it is increasing every day and June 4 will be a historic day. The Modi wave is going to sweep the parliamentary elections in Southern India. We are going to win with a record margin...Congress will get less than 50 seats.”

Union minister Arjun Munda on Monday claimed that the Congress and INDIA bloc converted tribals as "mere vote bank", while the BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured that these people get due respect. Attacking the Congress, the former three-time Jharkhand chief minister claimed that the party believed that tribals who lived in jungles were criminals by nature and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government first took interest in their welfare.
 

The Congress on Monday appointed former chief ministers Bhupesh Baghel and Ashok Gehlot as AICC senior observers for Rae Bareli and Amethi Parliamentary constituencies, respectively. Ending weeks of suspense, the Congress on Friday announced that Rahul Gandhi will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli, the constituency held by his mother Sonia Gandhi for the last two decades, and Kishori Lal Sharma, a close aide of the Gandhi family, will fight from Amethi.

Congress candidate Kanhaiya Kumar on Monday filed his nomination from the north east Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. Kumar filed his nomination at the District Magistrate's office in Nand Nagri in the presence of senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Minister Gopal Rai. He is pitted against BJP's two-time MP from the same constituency and Bhojpuri singer-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini filed his nomination for the Assembly by-election to Karnal, on Monday.

Samajwadi Party has appointed Shyam Lal Pal as its Uttar Pradesh State President, party sources said.
 

At a public gathering in Odisha's Nabarangpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "40 years ago, a Prime Minister had come to Odisha. He had said that I send one rupee from Delhi but only 15 paise reaches the poor. That means out of 100 paise, 85 paise was looted by the paws of Congress. You gave a chance to this poor mother's son and I said I will send one rupee and will not let anyone eat even a penny and whoever eats it will have to eat in bread..."

His PA had a conversation with someone there and then he told me not to speak anything about the incident, not to open my mouth. Union Minister and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Sambalpur, Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday participated in a nomination rally in support of BJP assembly candidate from Kamakhyanagar, Satrughan Jena in Dhenkanal district.

Amid the Congress' appeal to voters to opt for NOTA in the Indore Lok Sabha poll, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda has said the BJP will encourage the people to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. The BJP held a meeting here late Sunday night where a discussion was held on how to increase the voting percentage in the Indore Lok Sabha seat. Polling in Indore, where the Congress is out of race after its candidate withdrew his nomination, is scheduled on May 13.

An FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav for allegedly making derogatory statements against BSP chief Mayawati, police said on Monday. The FIR was registered on BSP leader Ram Prakash Tyagi's complaint against Yadav, who is the SP national general secretary, at the Civil Lines Police Station on Sunday night, police said.

Yadav has been booked under sections 504 (intentional insult) and 505 (statements conducing of public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), they added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two NDA election meetings in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, featuring alliance partners N Chandrababu Naidu from the TDP and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan.

The first meeting is scheduled in the afternoon at Vemagiri in Rajamahendravaram, East Godavari district, followed by another one later in the day at Anakapalli.

Days after Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma filed his nomination from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency, vehicles parked outside the Congress office in Gauriganj, Amethi were vandalised by unidentified people on Sunday night. Police reached the spot and spoke with the party workers who took to the streets in protest against the incident.

In a setback for Shiv Sena (UBT), its Nashik district chief Vijay Karanjkar joined the Shiv Sena (Ek Nath Shinder) in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. According to reports, Vijay Karanjkar was denied a ticket by the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, and he jumped ships with the Shinde Sena faction.
