New Delhi: Spooked by several exit poll results predicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA's massive victory, INDI alliance leaders have rejected the projections, saying that they "don't believe". After the INDI bloc meeting, which was attended by several leaders like Tejashwi Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi among others, ended Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that NDA will not win more than 235 seats.
"One should not get confused by the narrative of the BJP. The INDI bloc will win at least 295 seats. This is based on our assessment", he said. Several INDI leaders alleged that "exit polls were managed", even going to the extent of questioning EVMs if the results went in favour of NDA.
Dismissing the exit poll results for NDA being the number one party in Maharashtra, the leader of the opposition in the state legislative assembly and Congress leader Vijay Waddetiwar said, "We have full faith that INDI alliance government will be formed on June 4... All this is being done to please the ruling party. On the 4th, the truth will come out and we will come to power. I am confident that we will not get less than 35 seats in Maharashtra. We will go beyond 35."
Saying that the Prime Minister will be elected by INDI leaders, DMK MP candidate T. R. Baalu told news agency ANI, "It is very clear & crystal INDI bloc will definitely form a stable government at the centre. We will come forward to form a stable government in centre...it will not be less than 295."
Talking to a media channel, senior Congress leader Pawan Khera called the projections as “government sponsored exit polls.” Saying that the INDI alliance will get minimum 295 seats, Khera said, “Let them celebrate from 1st to 3rd. We will celebrate from 4th onwards.”
