Ajay Devgn and Kajol reunite for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior

Ajay Devgn and Kajol are considered to be one of the finest pairs of actors in the Hindi film industry. Both of them were previously seen together in the 2010 action animated comedy film Toonpur Ka Superhero. They will be seen sharing the screen space after a long gap of eight years in the upcoming film Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan, who will be playing the antagonist in the period drama. It is noticed that the bar for period dramas has been raised high over the last few years in the film industry with their hugely constructed sets and good quality of VFX and special effects.

The film is based on the life of the great Maratha warrior Subedar Tanaji Malusare, who battled alongside Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. The great Maratha warrior is celebrated for his important role in the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 AD. The film is directed by Om Raut and produced by Ajay Devgn. Kajol will be seen portraying the role of Tanaji’s wife. Ajay Devgn recently shared the first look and poster of the film on social media. It received positive reactions from his fans. The makers of the film have also revealed the first look of Saif Ali Khan who is playing the role of a Mughal fort keeper Uday Bhan Rathod as per a leading entertainment portal. The film is set to release in cinemas on January 8, 2020, and will clash with Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak which features Deepika Padukone in a leading role.

The film is said to be Ajay Devgn’s 100th film which makes it more special for all his well-wishers. The 50-year-old actor was last seen in the romantic-comedy De De Pyaar De which was directed by Akiv Ali. The film was a hit at the box office and received positive reviews from the critics. Kajol was previously seen in the film Helicopter Eela, where she portrayed the role of a single mother. The film was released in 2018 and was directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
