The film was a huge commercial hit and also earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination for her first film itself. She caught the attention of the public eye for her performance in films like Band Baaja Baaraat, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.

She recently got married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in 2017. The wedding was one of the biggest events of the year. She has also designed a clothing line, Nush.
