Baiju Bawra: Will Priyanka star with Ranveer in this movie?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali took the internet by storm after announcing something recently. The renowned director, producer, screenwriter and a music director took to social media and announced his big upcoming projects. Just a few days after the confirmation of his collaboration with actor Alia Bhatt, he announced his next film Baiju Bawra. According to reports, the movie will be showcase a revenge story of a maverick and is slated to release on Diwali 2021. The movie buffs got excited about this big news.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's official announcement

The big announcement was followed by the speculations about the cast of his upcoming movie. Reportedly, Padmaavat actor Ranveer Singh will be essaying the protagonist of the film, which marks the Bhansali-Ranveer’s fourth collaboration after Ram-Leela, Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. Recently, it has been reported that Bhansali has approached The Sky is Pink actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas to portray the female lead in the movie. According to an online publication, Chopra will be seen romancing Ranveer Singh in this upcoming collaboration.

The official announcement or confirmation has not been done by the makers yet. If the reports are true, Ranveer-Priyanka duo will be sharing the screen space for the fourth time after their collaboration in Gunday, Bajirao Mastani and Dil Dhadakne Do. Furthermore, Chopra was a part of the 2013 Ranveer-Deepika starrer romantic-tragedy movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela when she performed in the song Ram Chahe Leela.

Ranveer Singh is set to appear in Kabir Khan’s sports movie ’83. The Gully Boy actor will essay the role of Kapil Dev, while Deepika Padukone will portray his wife Romi Dev in the movie. Produced under the banner of Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films and Nadiadwala Grandsons, ’83 will theatrically release on April 10, 2020. Ranveer also has Sooryvanshi in his kitty. He will star alongside Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in titular roles in this Rohit Shetty directorial movie. This action drama is slated to release on March 27, 2020.
