Baiju Bawra: Ranveer Singh or Ajay Devgn to be seen in Sanjay's next?

Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali surprised fans with the announcement of his other movie Baiju Bawra. The filmmaker has booked the Diwali 2021 box-office date already. At the moment, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy with Gangubai Kathiawadi which will star Alia Bhatt. After completing Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will hop on to the Baiju Bawra project.

While Gangubai Kathiawadi is more of an action drama and dark emotional story of the world of crime, brothels and rich men who visit brothels; Baiju Bawra is a musical and a dramatized version of the story of the singer Baiju, who wants to defeat the greatest musician Tansen in a musical debate. The director has not announced any actor's name for the movie yet. However, there are speculations that the movie may feature Ranveer Singh.

It is also rumoured that the makers of the movie were considering Ajay Devgn to play the role of Tansen in Baiju Bawra. However, the Singham actor, who has also worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the 1999 movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam has allegedly refused to be part of the film. As per reports, it is said that Ranveer Singh has given a nod for the film but the announcement is kept under wraps as Ranveer Singh does not want to shift his focus from his ongoing projects. There has not been any official announcement yet but if Ranveer Singh joins Sanjay Leela Bhansali then it can be expected to another fantastic on-screen offering for the audience, after Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.

Ranveer Singh's upcoming project

Ranveer Singh is presently busy with Kabir Khan’s 83. The movie will also star Deepika Padukone, portraying the role of his wife in the movie. Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the character of Kapil Dev in the movie. The film will hit the theatres next year.
