Bala star Ayushmann Khurrana on how he prepared to play a bald man

Bala is an upcoming romantic comedy directed by Amar Kaushik. The movie will feature Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. The film revolves around Bala, a 22 years old man suffering from premature baldness. The teaser trailer of the film was released on August 26 by Maddock Films. Bala is set to release on November 15, 2019.

Recently in an interview, Ayushmann Khurrana spoke about his upcoming movie Bala. He also shed some light on his role in the movie. Khurrana, when asked how he prepared for the role, said that he did not personally know how it was to be bald, but he knew a lot of people who suffered from premature baldness in their early 20s. Khurrana stated that he had a few batch mates who are now in their early 30s and some of them suffer from the same. Ayushmann Khurrana said that he tried to build his character on this. Ayushmann, about the role, said that Bala is in his 20s, so he is more complex of a character as all his peers seem to have healthy hair. Bala also had healthy hair in his teenage years, and he was quite famous in college.

The movie revolves around how he deals with the problem of baldness. When asked if he was going to make the bald look sexy Ayushmann Khurrana said that the makers and stars of the movie will be content with audience appreciation and added that it is indeed their aspiration. The actor had to lose some weight for the role of Bala as his character would be a 22-year-old in the movie. The Dream Girl actor Ayushmann Khurrana said that if he does not feel excited by reading the script, there is no fun playing the part.
