1) Bhaag Milkha Bhaag 

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was a biopic film on the life of the Indian athlete Milkha Singh. Farhan went through an intensive physical transformation for the film. Farhan's portrayal of the legendary Indian athlete evidently touched many hearts. The actor received a Filmfare award in the Best Actor category in 2014, the film also won multiple National Awards

2) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Farhan portrayed the role of an advertising copywriter who is an aspiring poet. Farhan's complex portrayal of a layered character like that of Imraan Qureshi garnered a lot of praise from critics and audience alike. Farhan also wrote the dialogues for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The film was heavily celebrated in the awards season by earning numerous nominations and wins, including two National Awards. The film featured Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif alongside Farhan.

3) Wazir

Wazir brought together Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan together on-screen. Farhan led the action-drama film. Farhan portrayed the role of an ATS officer. The story of the film heavily revolved around the metaphor of a game of chess, where the pawn plays the most important part. The film rides heavily on the acting talent of Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. Farhan had never played the role of a hardened cop, his portrayal garnered him praise from critics.
