Bigil has garnered humongous success across the country, as the much-anticipated sports-drama raked in a good business in the first week of its release. Bigil crossed the 200-crore-mark worldwide and is still going strong at the box office down south, as the movie raked in a business of ₹58 lakhs on Wednesday in Chennai. While the movie is working wonders at the box office across the country, the sports entertainer has also impressed the overseas audience. Bigil earned a business of $1.2 million in Singapore. Starring Joseph Vijay, Nayanthara and Jackie Shroff in the leading roles, the story of Bigil revolves around the life of a former football player who seeks out revenge for the death of his father. Directed by Atlee Kumar, Bigil marks the third onscreen association of Vijay with Atlee. Bigil also stars the South-Indian sensation, Vijay, in a prominent role.
