Boman Irani's journey from Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. to Housefull 4

Boman Irani is an Indian film and theatre actor who is well known for his characters in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), 3 Idiots (2009), and Don 2 (2011). His busy film career has largely put a halt to his performances at the theatre, yet, Boman continues to perform in theatre whenever possible. The actor is known for his comicality. He will be seen in the next franchise of the Housefull series, Housefull 4.

Boman Irani’s journey so far

Boman Irani was reportedly borm in a Parsi family in Mumbai and finished his schooling from St. Mary’s School. He undertook a two-year long waiter course at Mithibai College, Mumbai. He joined The Taj Mahal Palace and Towers after completing his polytechnic diploma. He worked there as a waiter and in room service for two years. Boman Irani is also an excellent photographer. He has publicly said that he was fond of acting since his school and college days. Irani’s mentor was late Indian ad filmmaker and veteran theatre personality Alyque Padamsee. Irani moved into films in 2000.

He started with ad films such as Fanta, Ceat, and Krackjack biscuits. His small but significant role in Darna Mana Hai gained him acclaim. Boman Irani gained tremendous attention for his role in 2003 comedy Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. along with Sanjay Dutt. His character of ‘Virus’ from the 2009 college drama 3 Idiots was so versatile that it is still remembered. Irani has also appeared in many comedy dramas such as Main Hoon Na, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Dostana, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Waqt: The Race Against Time, No Entry, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Cocktail, and the Housefull series. He has also worked as supporting actor in many films. Boman Irani hosted the IIFA Awards with Reitesh Deshmukh in 2008 in Bangkok, 2009 in Macau, 2010 in Colombo, and 2011 in Toronto.

On the work front, Irani will be seen in Rajkumar Rao’s Made in China, Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4, and director Brahmanand S Singh’s Jhalki. Housefull 4 is a multi-starrer comedy based on the reincarnation story of all the characters. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, Reitesh Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Rana Daggubati in lead roles. The film is directed by Farhad Samji.
