Brahmastra: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's co-stars

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will appear in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The eagerly anticipated film is the first of a three-part saga. Read about the details.

Brahmastra is touted as one of the most ambitious films in the history of Bollywood. The third feature film from writer-director Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra, is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film will see Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt pair up on the screen for the first time. Naturally, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Brahmastra.

Brahmastra will release on Summer 2020

The film will also feature Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. Mouni Roy will feature as the primary antagonist of the film. The film is the first in a planned trilogy. The details on the plot are closely guarded for now, but Ayan did reveal certain details on his Instagram, including the names of Ranbir and Alia's characters. Check it out below.

Ranbir and Ayan will collaborate for the third time

The film was first announced by Karan Johar in October 2017. Ranbir Kapoor said that Ayan spent six years of his life on the film. He further added that the three-part saga will be made over a period of 10 years. About the film, Ranbir described it as a romantic-fairytale story set in the supernatural format. The film was originally scheduled to release on Christmas 2019, but extensive VFX work postponed the release to Summer 2020.

The music for Brahmastra is composed by Pritam. The music director previously collaborated with Ayan on 2013's Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. The film is in production stages currently. Brahmastra has been extensively shot in Tel Aviv, Israel, Sofia, Bulgaria, New York City, London, the Ramnagar and Chet Singh forts of Varanasi.
