Chhapaak: Another film that proves Deepika Padukone's versatility

Chhapaak is one of the boldest choice of films for actor Deepika Padukone, who is set to return on screen in January 2020, two years after Padmaavat's release.

Announcing her comeback a few months ago, Deepika shared the first look of her upcoming film Chhapaak on social media, which was received well by netizens and her fans.

The actor has given many excellent performances throughout her career, evident from the audience's and critics' reactions. The Story And Details of Chhapaak

The story of Chhapaak is inspired by the real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggrawal. A man double of Laxmi's age reportedly proposed marriage to her, and when she rejected his proposal, he threw acid on her face and body several times. Laxmi was just fifteen years old when she survived this tragedy. She had to go through multiple surgeries after the attack. The film will narrate the story of her survival and courageous moves after the attack.

Chhapaak is a highly anticipated movie ever since its announcement by the film's director Meghna Gulzar, who had also directed Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in Raazi. The film will also turn Deepika Padukone from an actor to producer. It is reported that Vikrant Massey will play the antagonist in the movie. Chhapaak is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
