Chhapaak is an upcoming film of actor Deepika Padukone. The first look from her upcoming release has enthralled her fans. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie is reportedly a cinematic retelling of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Laxmi Agarwal was attacked at the age of 15, by her brother's friend Guddu, as an act of revenge. The tale of an Aligarh University professor, who faces the fury of a homophobic society won many hearts. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the movie featured Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao in the lead. The movie narrated the real-life story of Ramachandra Siras. Aligarh released in 2015, was hailed by the critics for depicting the tale of Siras with all warmth and honesty. The Attacks of 26/11 (2013)
The movie narrated the 72-hour ordeal faced by the city of Mumbai, during the 2008 terrorist attack. Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, the movie featured Nana Patekar, Atul Kulkarni, among others. The movie was appreciated by the critics for its cinematic retelling of the 26/11 terrorist attack. Adarsh posted a review hailing the movie for its brave and powerful plot. Talvar (2015)

The movie was the directorial debut of Meghna Gulzar. The movie starring Konkana Sen Sharma, Irrfan Khan and Neeraj Kabi in the lead was based on the 2008 Noida double murder case.
