His movies generally have metaphysical themes, construction of time, memory as well as personal identity. Nolan has directed 10 movies in his career.

The Batman trilogy

Christopher Nolan came up with Batman Begins in 2008 starring Christian Bale as Batman. The next movie in the trilogy was The Dark Knight, which was considered the best of the three by the audience. This is because of Heath Ledger 'slegendary portrayal of Joker. The third part The Dark Knight Rises was supposed to continue the Batman-Joker story, but due to Heath Ledger’s unfortunate demise, the third part dealt with a new villain: Bane.

Memento

Memento is Christopher’s second movie which was released in 2000. The movie traces the story of a man who suffers from short-term memory loss. He is tracking down the murderer of his wife. The movie also plays with narration and setting, as it progresses in two timelines.

Inception

Inception is a 2010 movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tom Hardy. The movie juggles with the concept of dreams, time, and the subconscious. It is a mind-blowing piece of science-fiction. The movie won multiple Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Visual Effects.

Interstellar

Christopher Nolan’s genius cemented itself in Hollywood with the release of the 2014 movie Interstellar. The movie is set up in a dystopian future of the earth. Mankind is struggling to survive and just have a stipulated amount of time on earth. A group of astronauts are sent to a wormhole near Saturn in search for a new home. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastin, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine.

Dunkirk

Dunkirk is a 2017 film which was directed, written, and produced by Christopher Nolan. The movie depicts the evacuation of Dunkirk during World War II. The movie stars acclaimed actors like Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D'Arcy, Barry Keoghan, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, and Tom Hardy. The movie shows the evacuation from all three ways: From the land, sea and the air.
