Deepika Padukone: All about her family and plans to start a new one

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married in 2018. Deepika Padukone is from a family of athletes and even though she has chosen acting as a career, she is proficient at badminton and used to be a national level player in the sport. Family and childhood

Deepika Padukone was born to Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone on January 5, 1986, in Copenhagen, Denmark, but her family moved back to India and settled in Bengaluru. Prakash Padukone is an accomplished badminton player. Deepika learned to play badminton from her father. Her mother Ujjala Padukone worked as a travel agent. Deepika's sister Anisha Padukone is a professional golf player. Deepika was also a child model and appeared in several advertisements ever since she was eight.

Deepika on how she would raise her child

In an interview with a media portal, Deepika discussed how she would like to raise her child whenever she and Ranveer decide to have one. She said that even though she had two working parents, she and her sister had a good childhood and got the required time and attention from their parents. So she hopes that when she and Ranveer have children, they can be just like her parents and give their child all that they require while still working. She said that she just wanted their family to be rooted, wholesome and secure. In another interview, she talked about the pressure that is put on newlywed couples to have children. Deepika also mentioned that while the pregnancy will happen eventually, she feels that it is unfair to put constant pressure on the woman and the couple as a whole to have children as soon as they get married.

Deepika will next be seen in the upcoming movie '83. She will play the wife of  Kapil Dev in the film, Romi Dev. The role of Kapil Dev will be played by Ranveer Singh. This will be the first time the couple will appear on-screen together after getting married. The movie will be a biopic based on the Indian Cricket team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
