Actress Deepika Padukone has captivated the hearts of filmgoers across the globe with her incredible talent and poise. The 'Padmaavat' star has also had a hectic personal life. In November 2018, she married her long-time beau and fellow actor, Ranveer Singh. The much in love couple got married in an elaborate ceremony in Italy, followed by grand receptions held in Bengaluru and Mumbai respectively. Post that, while Ranveer enthralled audiences with two back-to-back blockbusters, 'Simmba' and 'Gully Boy', Deepika has been low-key with her film releases.
However, the actress is turning producer with the Meghna Gulzar directorial, 'Chhapaak.' The film is based on the true story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Actor Vikrant Massey features in the film too. 'Chhapaak' is due for release on January 10, 2020. The film's shooting was recently wrapped up, and Deepika's look from the film garnered instant praise and generated excitement for the release of the film.
Despite having her last release almost two years back, Deepika has managed to stay in the news for a variety of reasons. Her marriage was the talk of the town. Fans of the couple were overtly ecstatic about the new development in the lives of their favourite couple.
One would believe that all of this success and adulation might get to their heads, which is usually the case. But time and again, Deepika has managed to remain an extremely humble and kind-hearted superstar, a rare phenomenon in the big bad world of Bollywood.
Deepika has managed to balance her superstar status and her normal daily life with the ease of a pro. She spoke about the changes she has experienced post marriage in an interview. “I’m a lot more grounded now. I feel secure. I feel protected. When you’re in a relationship, there’s still a lot of nerves, you’re still unsure, no matter how long you’ve been dating. I guess, the term boyfriend and girlfriend sound frivolous. Somewhere, it doesn’t carry that weight as marriage does. Today when we look at each other, there’s a sense of responsibility," said Deepika.
Besides 'Chhapaak,' Deepika will also appear in another film. She will co-star with her husband, Ranveer Singh, in the film '83,' directed by Kabir Khan. The film is based on the Indian cricket team's triumphant victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Ranveer is essaying the role of veteran cricketer Kapil Dev, while Deepika will play his wife, Romi Dev. The film releases on 10th April 2020, and fans are excited to watch the newlywed couple in their first film post their wedding.
